THE SPIRIT OF TENGRI

AK DAN GWANG CHIL (South Korea)

Ak Dan Gwang Chil uses the musical principles of the western provinces of South Korea to create a unique sound.
Ak Dan Gwang Chil was organized in 2015, on the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Korea. The group creates music based on the old shamanistic songs of Hwanhae-do, in order to communicate with the world through it. In Korean traditional music, it is also called Seo-do (West Coast).

The project seeks to artistically reflect the meaning of unification through contemporary music, emphasizing the importance of a particular culture and tradition.
